    Signs of a bad winter?

Had our first frost up here in NW Pa. My black walnut trees are so heavy with nuts that the boughs are bending down! Never saw that before.

Loads of acorns in the woods. Wolly bear catepillars main stripe is dark brown and very wide. My Grandmother always said that indicated a severe winter.

Farmer's Almanac says that we are going to get hit.

If you are in SE PA come to the real SE and see some Katrina style run on stores at the first mention of snow.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

THe problem here is the lake effect snow that comes off of Lake Erie when the lake is not frozen. Then we get feet not inches! Same thing happens to Buffalo NY.
