    M12 riot sling swivels?

Hey guys I'm new here. I've had a U.S. marked winchester model 12 riot gun (1942) for a while now. It has a sling attachment on the stock and a sling attachment in the end of the magazine tube. I got an origianl m1907 sling to slap on it. But I still need the attachment for the magazine tube. It looks like it would accept a sling swivel? What would be the correct style swivel to use? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok here's some pics of the gun. On the front of the magazine tube there is a sling attachment patruding to accept a sling swivel? I will get more pics of the area of interest. These are all I have at the moment. Hope this helps guys. Thanks

The spud on the front of the mag tube doesn't look right. It looks like an add on. The military front swivels were different I think. There's pics on this site showing these guns. The rear swivel is really hard to see but looks about right to me. There's going to be others here that will be able to look at the US marking and say if it's correct. If you could get better light and closer pics, it would be a big help. There are many features we'll need to see.

Isn't the front swivel supposed to be on the bayonet lug on the heat shield?

This is not a trench gun just a riot gun. I have had the gun checked out by an antique gun collector. they looked it over and said that the markings are in fact original. he said the sling attachment looks to also be original on the butt stock and mag tube. I've also seen the front sling attachment be attached to the mag/barrel clamp. there is another thread on here of an m12 riot and it looks to have the same front sling attachment as mine which is on the front of the magazine tube.. thanks guys for all your responses. keep them coming. I need to no what to do

I understand that's the part. The other thread is inconclusive about the origin of that sling attachment. I'm not sure. There's several around here that will know for sure but they haven't surfaced yet. Anyway, according to Canfield, most riot guns didn't have sling swivels. The one he illustrates was cut down from a full length gun in Anniston Arsenal and has a sling swivel installed under the front cap. Not on the front. The nature of the front cap swivel on yours might help to determine when it was installed. But if the rear swivel is correct...then...maybe? Winchester did use sling hooks.

Haha I illustrated that so pple would no exactly what I was talking about. Idk either. It looks to be original but idk either? I sure hope it is. Most I've seen have the attachment on the barrel/mag tube band?
