    My Bren MKI

    Hi
This is my first post in this great forum and sorry if there are mistakes in what I writte.
I registered to learn about these beautiful machine gun, since I am restoring a Willys MB Jeep in Britishicon Airborne version.
And one of my wishes was to have a Bren and found one.
Need restoration work and new charging handle.
Here are some photographs and all comments are welcome!

    Regards

    Luis

You really need a new butt M60 but Mk2 butts aren't common. The GOOD (or not so good.....) news is that your gun is a Mk1 and so should have a Mk1 but. But, that in itself might be an even bigger problem if you ask me! To be honest a Mk1 or 2 butt is perfectly acceptable on your gun. I say this, but the real Bren fiends will tell you otherwise.

Do you have access to a new butt and carrying handle?

The first thing that I'd do if I was you would be to contact Brian at BDLicon Ltd in SC; USAicon and get a little slightly technical booklet by Skennertonicon about your gun. All the best with it.

And don't forget, we'd like to see your jeep on the military vehicles thread too

    Thank you for your comments!
Sorry, that you mean by M60 butt?
I understand what is meant by Bren fiends!
I'm a purist, but if there manuals or photographic material documenting changes, much better and accept them.
Unfortunately it is very hard to be a purist if you live in the hole of the world.
The carry handle replacement I did and buy in UKicon.
With pleasure I'll post the work of restoration of my jeep, but is still in very gilt stage, but when is upfront will!
    Regards

I was calling YOU M-60!. I am a purist too but I am an Armourer and we would repair a Mk1 Bren gun with a Mk1 OR a Mk2 butt. It would not matter in the military.

Brian at BDLicon has MANY books and information about your gun if you ask him. There are some new Mk2 butts in Englandicon. If you need a Mk1, then look on EBay but you will need MANY parts

Sorry, Luis. I do not know what the "W" on you buttstock means.

Here are pictures of a MKI buttstock.
