Range time with the '96 Krag

Hi all. I was able to get to the range today with the Kragicon. I finally got a front sight on it, and needed to see where she was hitting. I boresighted the rifle on the target, and adjusted the rear sight until the sights agreed with the view through the bore. The circled group in the photo is the first one I fired. Wound up with the rear sight set at 500 yards to get on target at 25 yards. Guess the front sight is a little too tall. A file should fix that. This old Krag seems to be pretty accurate. Not bad for a 117 year old rifle.
