If you refinish a 1911A1, that's not a restoration. It's a refinish.

If you have a worn, mixed parts mongrel, then a refinish would make sense:

Latest picture. Finally got my hands on an original WW2 production pistol belt, so now I have the complete vintage pistol rig. The gun has a pair of near mint original Keyes Fibre grips that I found on ebay for a reasonable price.

Leave it like it is, it don't need no refinish or restoration [lip stick], the wear on that ole vet. is a sign of Honor leave it there for History.
