    Left Hand K98k

Not the real deal, and if this post doesn't belong here, I apologize. Let me know and I'll delete the thread...

I've got a left handed K98kicon replica built on a Yugoicon M70 Mauser-type receiver by Mark Lammers of LOSOK Custom Arms LOSOK Home

    8mm Mauser
    New Lothar-Walther barrel
Unertl 4x Hawk Scope on Leupold mount & rings
.5 MOA (supposed - I requested .5 MOA accuracy when I commissioned the build, I'm skeptical that it would shoot that well.)
Reddish stain (applied by my father) with boiled linseed oilicon finish

HUGE shot of the bore. This was the best picture I could get of the rifling, sorry it isn't better:

It's fun to shoot but heavy and hard on the shoulder. I'm debating selling it or "sporterizing" it. What's your thought, should I keep it or get rid of it?

If I were to sell it, what would be a reasonable asking price?

Or if this were to made into a sporting rifle, keeping the original barrel, how/what would you do?

    Thanks!
    Jay

I wouldn't sporterize it any further than it is. It's a nice looking rifle. Selling it will be problematic I would guess in that there probably aren't that many people interested in a left hand rework of a K98icon. Seems like one of those things where you'll never get out of it what you put into it. There are probably a lot of left handed shooters that would love to have it strictly for that purpose or for hunting. Making it lighter isn't going to help the recoil, it will make it worse. Perhaps you can find a padded butt that will fit without altering the stock.
