I dip my 06 case necks in a small jar of powdered graphite, tap once or twice to get the excess off before neck expanding. This helps the sizing go a bit smoother and eliminates the awful screeching that usually results without it. Also reduces the wear and tear on the expanding ball. A small jar or vial of powdered graphite lasts a very long time. It is a bit messy, but worth the effort to lengthen the life of the expander ball and keep things quieter. J. Cooper

I've since tried the powdered graphite that came with my Lyman. Agreed messy stuff but did do the job.
