A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Thanks emmagee1917 for the pictures. That is a great piece of photo documentation! Some time ago, I was approached by a collector that was looking for the associated webbing of the battery pack. He said the backpack had an opening at the bottom for the cable. Looks to me like the opening is a flap at the top right corner. He also mentioned he was also looking for the smaller version that was worn on the belt. Looks like he was not correct on this either. Thanks to all for the comments and the pictures. Also thanks for preserving this historical kit.

I gather the range of the Infra red was short as the M1icon round was good to about what guys 200-250 meters as it would be linked to the lights effective range I know the Germans played with this in the second world war have a pic one on an MP-40 but apart from that not much else. Another thing they did with the MP-40 was curve the barrel to shoot around corners sighting with the aid of a prismatic sight, also for their tankies to sweep the deck of the tank just poke it out the hatch to protect them from Russianicon tank killing soldiers. The barrel was ported on one side cannot remember if it was the outside radius on the inner one to aid the bullets arc in the barrel anyway thats me....

wtmr , if you mean the threaded hole / bracket on pg 7 , that is for a bracket to help attach the cable ( have not been able to find one loose ) . There is the pistol grip trigger to turn on the light ( my set does not have the separate stock bracket as I have a drilled stock ) , a dial knob on the scope's front to work the aiming light , and a couple of knobs on the light assembly itself.
RCEME , on pg 6 is the lower right hole for the cable to exit . The top flap covers the entire top as the electronic box and battery assembly slides in through there.
Cinders , they are good for about 100-125 yds for movement. Someone walking towards you at 100 could be man or cow. 75yds , you can see it's a man with arms , 50 yds , you can see uniform details , 35 yds , facial features , 25yds , clear as day , you can ID who it is if you know them.
