    Breda /Beretta Garands

The Italianicon stocks are shorter in the forend than their American counterparts. Will this affect the ability to re-barrel in 30-06 or does one have to stick to .308 using Italian wood?Looking at a build using stripped Italian actions.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... The standard 30-06 version is a full length stock so to say in general that Italianicon stocks are shorter is not correct. The shorter will naturally be incorrect for the US barrel or Italian 30-06 barrels. You can extend it or buy an Italian stock if you want to keep it all Italian. I have about 50 BMR and PB stocks in full length. Rick Bicon

Like he says, the short stocks are for the 7.62 versions...

Would there be a problem using a Beretta made action ,receiver and trigger group with a 30-06 pipe and a full size stock? That's my intensions. Can't be picky here in Canadaicon as to parts so likely SA for the rest. It's a shooter not a collectors piece.Looking at taking a couple years to put it together. Numrich has both styles of stocks . SA complete bolt.etc

All the parts will fit together and work just fine.

I had a Beretta that was once a 7.62 and once a 30-06. The stock, barrel, hand guard and op rod are all shorter. All the other parts interchange. I liked the feed of the 7.62 better. Silly to say but moving the weight of the gas cylinder back seem to make it just a little faster to point.

I have a fair amount of Italianicon parts on hand if in need.
