Question Toronto Home Guard WW1 ?

I'm a little desperate trying to locate information about the Toronto Home Guard in WW1.

I have a photo of grandfather in full uniform. What type of weapon would he have carried. He had to rent his Toronto Home and move his family to Acton for a year while serving. Are there any records of these men who served in the Home Guard?

    Thanks
    Alan

If he stayed in Canadaicon, he was probably issued a 1905 Ross. If sent to Europe, either a 1910 Ross, or an SMLE, depending on when he got there.
