1888 carbine
Just acquired a loft find Haenel made model 1888 carbine with a manufacture date of 1891.
Its in reasonable condition except the whole bolt assembly is missing. The finder has searched high and low for the missing bolt with no success.
Does anyone know where I can buy a bolt?

Rilfe bolts do show up on Epay for real money. Carbine bolts never show up. Very tough to find a real Carbine bolt. Expect to pay $175.00 for a rifle bolt.

This may or may not help but I saw a KAR 88 in fair shape last week in Ridgecrest for 209.00. Dunno how far you are from there.

Phone number is on his site. He speaks English, is good and reliable. (... and above all, he´s got that bolt)

I didn't see a Kar bolt, only a Gew bolt. The Gew bolts do show up on epay. Good luck.

Thought the carbine´d have the same bolt. But it might be worthwhile mailing him anyway. He´s s got a load of stuff not on the website ... or can maybe get hold of it.

The carbine has a turned-down bolt handle with a flattened cross-section. Something like this:
Attachment 46840
The rifle was actually designated Gew.91, not Kar.88. But Patrick Villiers is right - it's worth an e-mail, something might turn up.

303,
Any updates on your bolt? I would like to see some MORE photos of your rifle posted.
I have a deep interest in Gew88's, and don't see many carbines!
