Thanks Patrick and Jerry. I concur with all you´ve written and it coincides with the experience I´ve gained. There´s just no alternative to as much grease as possible under the bullit, andit has to be seated as late as possible.
BTW, the standard Kaiser´s Army cartridge case should be suitable (I hope), as there doesn´t seem to be a Bavarian example to be found anywhere on the web. And the bandolier is another item that´s proving difficult. Bavarians don´t seem to as interested in their past as Prussians.

I do not have a drawing of the Werder carbine cartridge. But I do have one for the M1871, as used in the "updated" version of the Werder rifle. The wad was clearly labelled as being of wax, between two card wads. After scaling the drawing, the wax seems to have been about 3.5m thick. I reckon you need 3-4mm of grease under your bullet.
It can also be gleaned from the drawing that the powder charge filled the case up to the top of the shoulder/start of the neck. The under-powder wad was fairly precisely at the start of the neck. Use that as a plausibility check for your powder/wad/bullet settings.
