    Latest range report

Took my Enfields to the range today to blow out all the cobwebs and to check the performance of my new handloads at 200 yards: 174 Sierra MK, 45 grains of IMR4350, CCI BR-2 primers, Remington brass and an OAL of 3.075". I also brought out some Hornady Match 303 and some Prvi Partizan, both using 174 match bullets. The accuracy of the Hornady and my handloads were roughly the same and the Prvi was noticeably larger by about twice. Here are two groups shot at 200 yards with my No 4 Mk 2 with the AJP 8/53 match sight:

And here is the group from my new No 4 Mk 1* Long Branch shot with my handloads at 200 yards:

Based on today's performance of another No 4 Mk 2 I've decided to mount my spare PH5C sight, the one I had Fultons of Bisley recondition for me. The wood on the gun is not very pretty but the gun is very accurate:

    Some groups with my L39A1

Here is my L39A1 which I acquired about a year ago. All I've done to it is have Fulton's of Bisley recondition the TZ 4/47 sight that's on it now. The 5C shown was moved to my most accurate Enfield No 4 Mk 2.

Here is one of my test targets shot at 200 yards with Lake City 168 match (12:00 o'clock), ABT M118 (2:00 o'clock) and Serbian M118 (5:00 o'clock). The Serbian load shoots this tight routinely.
