What is the serial number range for the Stevens 416 US property marked rifle? I just picked up one today, serial number 20186x at a gun show. Thanks

They were all(10,388) made in 1943 in the 200000 to approximately 210000 SN block at a cost of about $16. Many if not all went through overhaul at various depots. I've seen the SA (Springfield) cartouche on the left side of the buttstock on several including mine. They also have a circle P proof on the grip. Parts are non-existent as the sights were proprietary. I would assume that originally they would have been marked with the FJA and Ordnance Corps cartouche on the Left side. Springfield had a nasty habit of refinishing the stock during re-build which obliterated these cartouches. You will also find the ordnance bomb proof below the serial number. These are great rifles and relatively rare especially in complete, un-messed with condition. Regards, Rick.

Yes, mine is US property marked and has ordnance bomb under the serial number. It has the SA cartouche on the left side of the stock. It has the original front and rear sights.
