1903 w/ .22 conversion kit.

Hello Sirs,
I haven't posted on here in a long time so I thought I'd post some pictures of a pawn shop find. ($175) Complete with .22 conversion kit. The stock has had some modifications made that I would rather were not made but obviously someone made it to meet his/her own desires.

I'd sure love to find one of those. I think any of those full size rifles converted would be a dream to shoot. I'd rather have the original stock though.

congrats , nice rifle , looks like a 42 remington M1903 modified if the reciever matches the barrel , some of the changeover stamped parts incorporated , i agree on the stock but its not really all that bad , you got a great rife at a great price and a fairly expensive conversion kit too , you will enjoy shooting this one , and a new stock is findable if you decide its needed ,

in the last few years i found one of those kits and fitted it to my springfield M-1903 to end up with a similar albeit more traditional version , i then gifted it to one of my nephews as a keepsake of his grandfather , i had inherited that rifle from my father in 2000 , it had a terrible bore - surpluss ammo in the late 50s/early 60s without proper cleaning , the kit turned it into a shooter again , he should get some fun out of it ,
i had done the conversion to an M-1903A4gery for the other nephew just before this one , this one i converted with an M-2 bolt and a custom conversion tube , needles to say both cost me way more than yours - even with the inherited rifle ,

That's his "Garand trainer" that he bombed us with a few years back. You never see them...and his is like new.

For that price you would be lucky to get just a rear sight on ebay, a good find and a very good price.

BAR got it , its a stevens/savage 87M , that one i have here in my possession ,

I have an 03 conversion similar to that with a 1922 M2 bolt.
It doesn't have the parts to accommodate a magazine, and is missing a barrel date.

i used an M1922 bolt to convert the remington , had an insert made and headspaced it to fit , its actually quite accurate at 25-30 yds for a 14" insert ,
