A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Whilst far from an authentic replica, it is a far better version than many I have seen. For some years I have manufactured (here in NZicon) replica De Lisle Commando carbines that are correct in all respects to the originals. My research has been extensive and included detailed examination of originals in the Pattern Room collection. My xtra name is gundoc if you want to contact me.

In Canadaicon, there have been very accurate reproductions (sans suppressing capability) made by a chap who posts in various sites under the boardname "mudpuppy". These are correct to the original drawings, except for the silencer.

The ones made by Valkarie Arms here in the USAicon were very poorly manufactured and need extensive work to get them up to snuff. Shandwick Supply in Scotland make the best reproductions I've examined. Unfortunately, they are not importable to the USA.

The problem here in the UKicon the ones that are supposed to be made to the original design would be section 5, if the shroud can be removed as the original barrel was 8" and a bit short of our required 12" barrel.

The one thing his display doesn't show you is when the bullet hits the gong, you can hear it whizz of in some direction or other. At 60 yds, the FMJs hit like a hammer and goes back over your head(at least in my case). Makes one imediately change to a soft target. So much for people's theory of bullets vapourizing on impact...

I got to shoot one made by Valkarie Arms . It was as quite as a mouse fart and I had no issues with it and It hit were you aimed.
I was funny looking with a brand new suppressor end attached to an old war horse.

The one I shot had a normal .303 extractor and there were no issues. No change to the bolt or mech at all.
