Check out S&K for good quality, no tap mounts for Lee Enfields. They make both SMLE and No.4 jobs. No scout mounts for the No. 4 because there is nothing forward of the action to bolt them to. As for the stripper/charger question, you might be out of luck. Are ten shots not enough?

Thank you all once again for the links and advice. Knowing my buddy for 45 years I understand his thoughts, he wants something that won't prevent him from reloading rapidly, we all know swapping magazines in an Enfield isn't as quick and easy as it is with modern rifles.

What about the scout scope mounts that use the muffler-type tape to secure it forward of the receiver, the ones that wrap around the barrel?

Oh, you mean the ones made by Gomer and Goober under the shade tree down by the service station in Mayberry, right?

JJ, is this what you're looking for? I think it attaches with set screws but I have no experience with it.

That's it! I couldn't find it after losing my favorites with a computer update. Thank you for the link.

    To others:

I said it looks like "muffler tape" might be used to install the mount, there aren't any YouTube videos on installation other than the ones on the XS website and they don't demonstrate how to affix the mount to an Enfield. The XS Sight Systems scout mount uses Brownells ACRAGLAS which is a fiberglass-type resin, when I've worked with it on buses and cars to repair holes we always used patches and/or tape in addition to the resin. I'm not a Son of Obama who would use duct tape, cut a barrel needlessly, or bastardize a rifle even if it's been "sporterized" by a wholesaler decades ago.

Thank you for that. We were all praying that you weren't.
