Carbine Club Newsletter On It's Way

The January 2014 issue of the Carbine Newsletter is in the mail and you should see it in a few days. That is unless you did not renew your subscription with the last issue. Still not too late to renew and receive all issues for 2014.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. That thas got to be the best bargain in collecting

$18 a year buys an amazing publication. Some issues may lose steam once in a while, but then the out of the park home runs like the Inland article by Chris Albright or the fabulous Standard Product report by BQ provides really valuable no-nonsense information.

I'm a long time member. I find the newsletters to be a great (not the only) source of information. Books, forums like ours, etc. offer great help and information as well.

The Carbine Club newsletter is now being published quarterly. Individual back issues as well as the complete set are available. If you buy the complete set, it comes out to about 75¢ an issue. They date back to November 1976, that's over 37 years and counting. This issue will be number 377. Thousands of pages of informative reading, pictures, Carbine of the month. And it is quite a kick to look at the add section in some of the older issues. You can trace value changes over the years.

The site is posted up in the sticky section.

    Wink Carbine Club

Mine came last week, Friday I think. I have been a member since the mid-80s. Man have things came a long way since then. It is worth your time just to go back and read some of the old newsletters from the 80s. They sure have learned a lot about the little gun in those few years. Just when you think well that's it something new comes out again. They are a great club and do a lot of good work to keep things going. Carbines were my only interest in guns for a lot of years. In the last few years I have gone back to some of my earlier interest in other military weapons. But I still find a few carbines to buy every now and then. I bought Ruth's last book when it came out, I haven't found time to read it yet. I guess just need to take the time and see how much new information he has in it. GOOD COLLECTING

I didn't send in the renew ($23) until Dec. 30, 2013, so still no sign of the January newsletter here, but also see that the check hasn't been cashed.
    Who do I contact?

    Still haven't cashed my check.
    So no newsletter here :-(

    Biggest concern,
I have the dates here from the last 2 Data sheets I mailed in.

Late June/Early July 2012 Inland 5,061,238 Data Sheet and typed up 'Observations sheet'
June 6- 2013 WRA 1,031,621 Data Sheet, Typed up 'Observation sheet' and link to Photobucket picture file.

No idea if any were ever received?

I've E-mailed RF, hate to bug him, but missing that newsletter!!
