    1903a1 NM 8x Unertl

1938 Star gauged . Appears to be a NM converted to a sniper & used as a display at Quantico . Eventually traded to Larry Smith of MC1 Garandicon fame in 1970 .The rifle shows up in a SRS search . The seller states it was donated to Quantico for display . Since the seller had one of the 12 MC1 Garands that Larry Smith acquired from Quintico plus this undocumented Document . His claim has merit .I figured the sum value of the parts since USMC WW2 Unertls are bumping 8K. Plus A SRS hit 1903A1 C stocked NM rifle 3K .Could not pass it up . For anyone interested in such things. A couple pics , One other odd thing about the rifle is the handguard .It is in 2 pieces meets under the middle band allowing a free floating barrel . Thanks for looking V/Owens

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I'm hoping to be able to do the same one day. I'm currently building a 1903A1 to shoot this summer at Camp Perry, and I've taken a lot of time and effort to making sure I have as legitimate of a rifle as possible so that one day when I'm able to get a Unertl USMC Sniper, the rifle will be deserving.

In the meantime, I'm likely just going to use the Malcolm scope.
