The 1819 pistol will be slightly delayed as I couldn't resist a .45 Colt caliber revolver yesterday. Completely not Milsurp, but the same as carried by the Georgia State Highway Patrol for some time.

No .54 caliber balls in the stash, anyway. Need to round up a few.

Forgot that I don't have much internet access for the next 2 3/4 days! A hasty photo spread:

North with a St. Etienne (both about the same age, 1822 for the Simeon North and 1824 for the Frenchicon Mle.1822). Both converted to percussion, but the North was "retro'd" some time back.

Bore's not hideous. Still measures right at 0.540-0.542""

I believe the hammer and all of the flint specific parts are reproductions.

Wood seems mostly OK except for a small broken out area between the lock and barrel. The exterior has been sanded on a little but there's markings left.

The percussion conversion was via threaded drum, but the large hole was plugged and then welded over with some grit blast to age the area. Wouldn't hurt my feelings too much except the plug was flat faced internally AND the flash hole was drilled too low. Almost at the bottom of the pan. May do this operation over.

Since i walked into this purchase knowing of the "unconversion", the reproduction bits aren't a complaint. It's only that the work needed to be just a wee bit better! Hopefully, it'll be a good shooter at some point.
