Will we still have access to all the old posts?

Ok, I comprehended the part where the switch was mandated by software, etc. and that Dick and Gloria could not keep going with all the listed issues. Its great that they were able to do it for 10 years and even better that they took it upon themselves to find a solution for everyone else. I have never met them but they are obviously top notch people - and that should go without saying.

Does anyone know if all the information - the gold of all the old posts (I was nowhere near reading all the 28,000 posts) - will that info be archived or accessable for review later? There is alot of good information in alot of those post.

I rather doubt it. It will remain up for a few more days and then the old site will redirect to the new one.

It's time to start doing the "save page as" thing.
But on the brighter side, isn't it great for us retirees to be referred to as 'Juniors' again?

Yea, I kinda like the word "junior", makes me forget that I am gray, going bald, fat, wearing bifocals and starting to creak more than the stairs.... hey, where is that bottle of Geritol anyway???? At least the Carbines will still be older than most of us!

Hello: To my understanding, the "old" site will disappear in a few days. The way it going though, the spammers may devour M1icon Garand and other forums before the switch is thrown and the lights are turned off.

    Rick,

Gray, going bald, fat, wearing bifocals, I don't know if you are you bragging or complaining? Oh, add to that losing 50% of your 401K so you still have to work.

    Fat, bald, gray ....

Nope, not complaining - just speaking the truth. I'm still younger than most and hoping that there will be some social security left for me when I get there! As far as the 401K, I am lucky - I never had enough spare change over the years to throw it away on having a separate 401K or the stock market. My retirement is military - so I am living off of YOUR tax dollars for the rest of my life (thought I would rub that in). Yes, wife has informed me that IF (and I don't know why she used the word " if " )... IF I want to keep buying guns, I need to find a job... let's see.... CMPicon SG Underwood carbines @ $565 plus shipping times 12 a year... couple of garands.... ammo... shock refinishing supplies... few trades... budget 6 gun shows a year... trip to Camp Perry... write the eight and carry the three....hmmmm, anyone know where I can get a job for about $218,000 a year to support my addiction????

    Hey Rick,
I do my 99yo dad's taxes and I'm always amazed at how much he, as a gov't retiree, gets monthly.
You guys chose career plans wisely.
Found any ammo lately? None to speak of here in Haltom City......

Who is Rick? and Hungry for Ammo

Hmmm, trying to figure out who Rick is... (name is Ed - unless you are a bill collector or a bounty hunter, then "rick" is good for me)....

Seriously, haven't seen a box of 30 carb on a store shelf in almost a month. Cabela's had some Rem about 3 weeks ago, but its all gone. I know I personally bought the last few boxes out of two different Walmarts. I spotted two boxes in Walmart in N Richmond Hills about 3 weeks ago, but I was too busy to get it. Went back and they were gone. CTD told me that they have been out for over a month. Also out at all the area gunshops that I have checked or called. I managed to get plenty of .30 carbine 110 FMJ and I still have 1 1/2 pounds of 2400 left, but I can not seem to get my hands on any small rifle primers in this area. Couple of places have them listed on line as "in stock", but I don't want to pay their high prices plus the hazmat fees. I am good for about 5 or 6 more range trips, then I will have to cut into my "minimum required shelf stock" numbers.... anyone got a line on AFFORDABLE primers, 2400 or 296? I don't mind rolling my own...

Wow, this topic has walked off of the original post subject!!!

    Sorry Ed,
    Senility kicking in.......
The brother-in-law alerted me to the fact that CTD had S&B last Saturday but I couldn't get there due to a trip to Sherman until Tuesday. By then not only did they show "Sold Out" but the reference to S&B was gone too.
Yesterday's trip to NRH Wallyworld was a no-go also.
Keep me posted if you find anything.
BTW, who the heck is Rick? I don't know any Rick.... Really sorry about that.
    Phil
