rubber eye shields on lyman alaskan scope

Hello, I have been trying to find the rubber eye shields for my lyman Alaskan scope with a post. I went on line an found a guy who sells GI rubber eye shield for m84 scopes. I wanted to know if my lyman Alaskan scope would fit the m84 rubber eye shields this guy sells?....Did original 03a4s use the rubber eye shields with lyman Alaskan scopes in WWII??

No,, the 84 cup will not fit . You need a M82 eye cup .Northridge had repos at one time ..Rough moulded rubber ..Be aware the M82 cup will not fit a standard commercial Lyman scope ,,,It has to be a A or B prefix scope . The eye piece is longer on the A & B ..Yes B prefix Lymans were issued with eye cups . Many will say the A prefix scope was never issued,, however it will accept the 82 eye cup .

I know this is an old post but I have original M81/M82 rubber eye shields for sale. They are NOS USGI contract as made in the early 1950's.

ggordon has very nice reproductions for sale on the CMPicon forum. That being said, if you're using it on an A4 unless you have the 2 piece rings (they're higher than the split top 1 piece rings) chances are the bolt handle will hit the eye piece. The wall thickness is too much.

.......oh, yeah, it is an old post...oops
