    help with Machete converted from sword.

    I read about WWi cavalry swords being converted to machete's in pacific WII. Is this true? Anyone have a picture, thanks

    The only sword conversions that I am aware of were the one's made from the 1913 Patton cavalry sword.

    These were made into fighting knives made by Anderson of Glendale CA.. One of the Cole books should have reference to this piece.
    On a side note , several years ago 15+ at least, I sold several blade only Patton swords on my table at a show up here in Minnesota. By some ODD coincidence for the next couple of years fighting knife made from Patton sword blades were shown up quite regularly.
    The guy that bought the blades had a reputation of faking sniper rifles, I guess he might have branched out.

    Not common, but, here in Maryland it is not uncommon to find Civil War period swords made into corn knives at farm sales, auctions, antique malls and shops. I've also seen "fighting" and camp knives. I have one in my collection made from a CSA blade.
