    1911A1 Prices

Is it just me, or are the prices of 1911A1's going up every week? Every show I go to and all the auctions seem to adjust prices on a weekly basis.

Yes, the price of all U.S. martial arms have been steadily rising, IMO, over the past 3-5 years. Even the 'secondary' arms, Colt Commando, Colt M1909, S&W Victory, Colt and S&W M1917 and M1917 rifles, all military shotguns, are all going up. I just added a WWI Winchester M97 Trench Gun to my collection and paid well over what I'd expected - at least 1/3 more.

A lot of the prices going up in the last 4 months have been due to the elections and the fear generated by them. The bad news is that because of the economy most people don't have the disposable income to buy now.

Coltgrabber is right. Most all of the 1911a1 are going up 10% to 30 % in most cases that I have seen. I Think its the sign of the times and/or big "O">

Never had much interest in handguns until seeing some of these 1911s. Wow! Now I need one!

I was at an auction this weekend, and prices were a bit soft across the board. There was the exception here and there, but generally all prices were down. The 1911/1911A1s were below or at the low estimates. Just one more data point....

I was at a gun show in ST Maries ID. in Feb, and bought a real nice first run Ithaca with matching mag. for $1350. May be to much but I like it and it needed a good home. It reminds me of when America was America , the county of the free and the brave, under God.
