Where can we Shoot Brens and Hopefully a Vickers?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but milsurps members have been helpful in the past. There are a group of us, all Britishicon Firearm Certificate holders who want to shoot machine guns. We did manage it once in Belgiumicon but that range has now closed. We are not interested in Ingrams / AK47s / Uzis or the usual Latvian stag weekend type shoots.

We are thinking of going to the Knob Creek, Kentucky USAicon, machine gun shoot in October BUT the range of machine guns available for us to shoot is very limited and there are NO Brens.

Can anyone tell me where else we can try? Websites or e mail addresses would be welcome!
    Thanks

At the moment 4, we should have things firmed up in next few weeks when we start asking people for money! The plan was 4, 6 or max 8. Spend a week to 10 days in the USAicon, none of us have been to Kentucky, and then back to the U.K. for the Trafalgar Meeting at Bisley. Sorry do not know RHIP?

Why would there not be Brens at Knob Creek? If you google the shoot, you will get an excellent overview of the weapons shot there. EVERYTHING...I highly recommend it.

There are never Brens or Vickers guns for rent at Knob Creek that I'm aware of. If you get an invite on the range with a firing position holder, that's a different story. Unfortunately, I'm always back in the big pole barn attempting to peddle my wares. I pretty much stay away from the firing line unless someone invites me out there which has only happened a couple of times in 15 years. I won't be at the April show this year.

I would like to have a demo here but it would need to be well planned in advance. I was hoping to coincide it with the release of Peter's Bren book which is sadly VERY overdue.

This is a strange thread.............. Talk of firing Brens and Vickers, other MG's and tank driving..... Funny how when it's been a form of enjoyable work for several years, sometimes it's just good to sit at the back of the range, keep a beady eye on things and generally have a bit of a back seat while the others do all the work. My little boy (well, not so little now.......) used to come to work with me and have a go. The one he particularly remembers was the Thompson gun from the waist

Oh yes........ Robert........ little boy...... He never seemed to be the most academic kid but got to Oxford Uni and got a Hons degree in something last Summer for his efforts!

  11. Thank You to Peter Laidler For This Useful Post:

Thanks for the replies so far. We are investigating alternatives, and have visited Las Vegas in the past, BUT we tend to keep drawing a blank on Brens and Vickers for rent.
Next step is to ask a couple of Britishicon Firearms dealers we know who have contacts in the USAicon to see if they can help.
I realise that discretion may be calle for so please PM if you have any possible contacts.
