A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I'm in the same boat times three. I'm trying to take three boys through a highpower season, have the powder but need bullets and primers.

    Primers in Northern Illinois

I have a friend that lives up in Northeastern Illinois near the Wisconsin border. Like everyone else he is hard pressed to find primers. He is not one to go shopping online due to security issue's he has. Some old folk are hesitant to give their credit number online still. The key is to use a Card that has a $500.00 limit with insurance in case of theft.
Anyway, he has talked of Gander Mountain having small lots of primers. Cabela's also has some, pricey though. Dick's Sporting on 294 is another source. There are many gun shops in that area, try Shranks Smoke and Gun in Waukegan or Outdoor Sportsman in Winthrop Harbor. The smaller stores will charge more, but you are not looking for large number. To be honest you should consider buying a case, stored properly they will last as long as you will!
When things calm down in the buying frenzy, go to Powdervalleyinc.com, wideners.com, Sinclair, Bruno's and Pat's Reloading for prices on primers! You will save a bunch if you buy in case lots and if you have other reloaders wishing to buy, group sales make the hazmat and shipping alot easier to live with.
