    Pics of 1916 Terni M91.

Picked this M91 up at a firearm auction two weeks ago for $100. It was described as 'poorly kept'. In fact, it's one of the nicest M91 long rifles I've owned. Total pleasure to shoot. I am kinda curious about the rather deep stamp on the right side of the butt stock. Is this something anyone has seen before? Enjoy the pics!

It's not the nicest I've seen but it doesn't look "poorly kept" by any means. Real bargain for $100. Wish I could find one like that as I'm still looking. I have not seen any deep stamps like that but I will check in my book later today to see if they show anything. I don't have time this morning.

The last one I've seen coincidentally was the nicest I've seen. Guy wanted almost $500 for it too.

I looked. Didn't find anything remotely close to that deep indentation.

nice rifle! I don't think it is a factory proof. Probably something added by a soldier or something like that.
