    My AR-15a (one & a half)

Is this sacrilegious? I just finished my FIRST AR build. I was going to buy one pre-built close to the way I wanted it. In fact I ordered and pre-paid for it, with the knowledge of suspected 90 day build time. Guess what? 90 days later company is OUT of BUSINESS! No GUN! I’m P!$$ED! Fortunately my credit card company refunded my payment, so I decided to build my own.
Colt; “CM” A2 upper receiver w/ sights, forward assist, and charge handle. (got this and $150 as payment for a SKS I was getting rid of)
RGuns; Stripped lower w/POW-MIA logo etched on mag-well.
McKay; M16A1 parts kit. (over paid, only missing a couple pins/springs, and 2 chipped teeth in hand guard)
McKay; 20” chrome lined, pencil profile, 1in7 twist barrel. (waiting on gunsmith to install FSB on new barrel, align and drill for taper pins)
PK Firearms; 3prong flash hider w/ crush washer, and a couple 20 round magazines.
Numrich; Colt M7 bayonet w/scabbard, complete triangle hand guard set, replacement butt pad, sling.
Midway USAicon; BSA 4x20 Duplex Reticle handle mount scope. (I’m old and need help seeing 100 yards sometimes) various tools supplies etc…

Let me know if I went overboard. I can’t wait to get this to the range and see how it shoots.

I guess it all depends on how much you have wrapped up in it whether you went overboard or not. It's a nice looking rifle however with the E2 rear sight the Pepto Bismal hand guards, flat delta ring and three prong flash hider are rather out of place. Get her to the range and report back to us.

Doesn't hurt my sensibilities one bit. It's not like it can't be changed up on a whim!

Haven't heard of McKay before. But I don't get out much. Would be nice to find another 1-12" twist 20" lightweight barrel or two. So looks like it's surfing time...

Jim, Try AR15Sport. They have pencil barrels: 1/12 chrome lined $229 and 1/9 non-lined $189. They are out of stock on the 1/9s (I got one of the last ones) but are getting more next week. Very good barrels. Colt barrels run $300 to $400 just for the pencil barrel.
    1/9": M16A1 pencil barrel

1/12: M16A1 pencil barrel 20" 1:12 twist with chrome lined chamber and bore

I'd shoot the p*ss out of it and have a good time. It'll probably shoot little ratholes at 100m...'cause they did...
    Regards, Jim
