Getting an auction site or a LEA to take action against the seller of a bogus item is a lot like trying to teach a cat how to sing: It is a waste of your time, & it annoys the cat.

"Unattributed restorations" may not fool the readers of this forum. But, others are not knowledgeable enough to understand what is happening with enough certainty to justify action. And, sellers of "humped" items usually give a refund to unhappy customers, regardless of return limits; this means that no one can be said to have lost money, so legal action is impossible.

Let it go; you just can't help everyone.

I have a good buddy who has a closet full of fake junk. Guns, holsters, you name it, it's a fake. We actually stopped taking him to gunshows as his wife blamed me for this activity. He has been going alone and has tried to peddle the junk off to dealers. He hasn't sold a thing and he is keeping it quiet. Sometimes you just can't save people from themselves.
