Hello Guys didn't see a new members section so this will be my first post we got some guns in the shop today from a collect and wanted to find out value and if they are real. A lee Enfield which we think might be the sniper model and a Smith corona which I will post in that section. I was directed here by a few people on a local form

Check the 130 picture virtual tour of the 1944 Enfield No.4 Mk1(T) Sniper Rifle (Mfg by BSA Shirley - M47c) displayed in the United Kingdom - Milsurp Knowledge Library.

Compare all the markings on the No.4(T) you're looking at against it.

Value depends considerably on 'completeness', condition and originality of parts - these are probably the most 'faked' enfields there are.

It certainly looks like a Kosher No4T

Value varies country by country and even state by state (in the US)

Does it come with the carry chest and the 'kit' or is it just the rifle ?



UK value : My guess for 'your rifle' if it is rifle and scope only would be $3000, whilst if you have the CES (Complete Equipment Schedule) and transit case you'd be looking at around $6500+

Factors to consider are the heavily sanded butt and cheekrest, very heavily sanded, and the odd flat head screws used on the front pad.

I see what looks like a renumbered bracket with the old number totally over-struck; interesting in reference to the recent thread on the 1933 trials rifle and the discussion there about bracket re-numbering.

I don't remember seeing a blob of weld on the charger bridge on a No4(T) before, but who knows!?

Welding of a loose bridge charger guide was a common repair Rob. Done loads of them!

Ok cuz we have a few interested customers it would be on the lower end of the spectrum correct?

I'd have to inspect it inside and out with correct gauges to make a determination. Condition is everything in the eyes of most buyers in my experience.
