    Saginaw Barrel Question

i recently came into possession of a S.G. Saginaw Barrel, It has the "long" barrel skirt on it. there is no date on the barrel.

I was curious if because it was a long skirt barrel there would be a way to determine when it would have been used (or not used) as i understand most manufactures switched over to the short skirt barrels.

No S.G. barrels were dated. The change over to the short skirt was about the fall of 1943.
