Query regarding purchasing Gun parts from the USA and process to bring into Canada?

Query regarding purchasing some needed gun parts from the USAicon
I've got a line on a couple of SMLE magazines for a really good price - and also an extractor I need for a restoration of a 7.7 SMLE Indo. The parts are rated 9.5 of 10 for condition. My question if I buy them will they be allowed to mail them to me or are magazines and other gun parts a no-no and I'll lose them at customs?
Anyone have advise or experience with getting gun parts imported through a private sale?

From the RCMP website I found the following-

    Importing Firearm Parts and Ammunition

Prohibited ammunition or firearm parts that are classified as prohibited devices, including handgun barrels that are 105 mm or less in length or parts made exclusively for a fully automatic firearm, cannot be imported into Canadaicon.

A valid firearms licence under Canadian law is not required to import non-prohibited firearm parts (except for a frame or receiver). However, an export permit from the other country may be required.

    Authorizations to Import

Currently, an import authorization under Canadian law for firearms or firearm parts that are not prohibited is not required. More information on whether one is required by the laws of the country from where the firearm is being exported is available by contacting DFAIT or the country’s embassy in Canada.

It may be more of an export issue for US citizens.

Sorry in advance if this is a repeat thread.
    Thanks for any input,
    Regards
    Dave

We've found in the past that it's what is put on the label that counts. The customs people aren't gun people and just react to that and what they see under X-rays. The State Dept has lists available of manufacturers that can pass through customs and if yours isn't on it you won't get the package.

Thing is Dave, there's actually a decent amount of that sort of thing already in the country and you don't have to import it. You could start with a WTB right here on this site...

Parts orders up to $500 are allowed from the USAicon to Canadaicon without a permanent export license as long as they don't include barrels, breech blocks or bolts. They must still be lodged with the AES ITN system for Customs/Census before shipment to keep within the parameters of ITAR. This takes time and construes an additional charge with most exporters.
