6mm Flobert Anschutz

I purchased these from Allan's Armory. The German youth rifle is a carbine and the only one I've ever seen. It had a cracked stock and I paid 75 dollars for it. Lucky for me someone applied a huge coat of shellac on it which actually protected the wood and the crack. I finished both guns with Walnut stain and linseed oil as they were finished that way back in the 30's. The carbine was very rusty and had some pitting but it cleaned up remarkably well and it has a great bore. It shoots the 6mm Flobert round which is a baby 22 short. Hitler trained the little boys how to shoot using these Anschutz rifles in his famous youth camps. I fell in love with the toy win-up key which replaced a damaged or lost action screw. It is braised onto a threaded screw body.

The second rifle is newer, probably late 30's and is a smoothbore garden gun. By the way I contacted Anschutz via email to find out the history of these rifles, however, all records were destroyed by the 8th Air Force during WWII. Anyway the garden gun was use for killing mice and rats in and around the house and barn. It shoots some BB's using only a primer so I imagine the effective range is about 10 feet. The gun is in overall excellent condition and has a bright bore. The cartouche identifies the stock maker as Waffen Krausser probably a sub contractor for Anschutz and they are still in business in East Munich to this day. Neither gun has a buttplate the stock end painted black. The smoothbore has a cool schnabel forend also painted black and a grasping groove stock + an adjustable rear sight! I paid $175 for it and thought it was a tad high but figure I made up for it with the carbine. What do you guys think?
