    Pics of S/42G Russian capture 98k.

    Here are some pics of my RC 98k. The refinished stock looks great. Denatured alcohol and BLOicon works wonders. Still need to find a way to get that horrible black off of it. Notice the unusual repair to the upper hand guard.

    The S/42G should properly have a walnut stock. Does look quite nice.

    Yeah, it's definitely not the original stock. I believe one this early didn't have a cupped buttplate.

    White vinegar will take off all the blueing you don't want on it pretty fast. Just soak the parts.

    right. cupped buttplates didn't show up until 1940 and laminated stocks didn't (in large scale) until 1939. but this was a Russianicon capture so it doesn't really matter.
