Type 38 in caliber larger than 6.5?

I have owned Chinese converted T38 in 8x57 in carbine and long rifle. Also have had several carbines converted to 7.62x39 and a T38 converted by the Siamese to 30-06.

China was very active in the conversion business. Besides several Japanese military carbines, I have an example of the Type I rifle converted to 7.62x39mm, US M1 carbine and two M1911A1s converted to .30 Mauser.

I have owned several 38 carbines that were converted to 7.62x39 and the magazine box was modified to hold five cartridges in such a way so they would feed into the chamber. I've had several 38 carbines and one 38 long rifle rebored and rechambered to 8x57. I also have a 38 long rifle that was converted in Siam to fire the 30-06. All these modification were done to supply workable arms to those who needed them.
