Gustloff bcd 42 RC Mauser K98k

This is my First Mauser, Even though it's a Russianicon Capture I have grown fond of it. Not much to say really, numbers don't match, the stock is nice and it shoots great. I am not sure what the zig zag mark is just above the 42 on the receiver and there are a few other marking I am not sure of. I do know it was made in 1942 at the Gustloff-Werke factory in Weimar Germanyicon.

that zig-zag mark looks suspiciously like the single rune SS stamp. problem with that is, Gustloff Werke isn't associated with the SS so that would have been added by some unscrupulous post war sales man looking for more money...probably. (you never have all the answers when it comes to these rifles)

2k05gt, did the seller make it a point to mention that 'single rune'? If he did, I would be inclined to agree with kar98k about it being an add on to get more money. But you mentioned that you wondered what that 'zig zag' mark was, so maybe he didn't? kar98k is correct, never say never with rifles like these.
Of course there's that whole 'Buchenwald' association with the bcd.....but still, have NEVER seen a bcd coded 98k with a single rune either.
    Interesting..............

No, he did not, I never knew what it was until someone pointed it out. I thought that it may have been a partial stamp from capture.
