HMS Defence sunk May 31, 1916 Jutland

My great uncle, Richard H. Jose Petty Officer 236246 died on the HMS Defence on May 31, 1916. He was among 54 officers and 849 men who were all lost on the HMS Defence.

My grandmother had given him this bible in 1902 and while in Malta and aborad the HMS Defence, he sent this bible to his father in Cornwall. My father was given this bible in 1921

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. HMS Defense was a Minotaur class armoured cruiser. The last of her type built for the Royal Navy.
