History Channel World Wars Series (FAIL)

Hopeing to ecape the Swamp people, mountain people etc.. I tuned in to the history channels World Wars series only to discover the Germanicon troops used Enfiled No 1s not Mausers. Who knew? Did anyone know the young Adolph Hitler trained with a 1917 Enfield?
Even the Japaneseicon were carring Enfields.

I taped it so I will watch the credits and see if Dr. Seuss was the tecnical advisor.

Apparently som factual errors as well. History Channel World Wars Show - When History Goes Badly - Esquire

The whole thing stunk. I found it sort of "revisionist" if you catch my drift. The wrong weapons was just icing on the cake. Agreed, FAIL....

Revisionist is the key word. I didn't know the Krauts & Japs started WWII because their feelins was hurt.
The misuse of firearms was so bad I thought it on purpose. I was surprised that the History Channel would show such a misrepresentation.

One more reason not to miss TV. Have been without for several years now. All I miss is the RADAR channel. And even it wasn't all that accurate at times.

I left and went outside when they "implied" that a young George S. Patton personally mounted the first machinegun on a vehicle (after showing him firing at an unseen enemy with a No1, MKIII, in Mexico)

Revisionist, that's what I was looking for. The people that like to re-write history are rarely interested in the facts. So, having all the wrong weapons and equipment doesn't even bother them because the audience thay were after are those that don't know any better, anyway. In fact, I think that they hope for that audience because they are clueless.

The funny part is that they pretty much had the right weapons and equipent to portray correctly if, they had just put them in the hands of the right people.

More revelations. The Germans used B-17s to bomb Poland & C130s to drop para troops into Franceicon, the Japaneseicon used modern warships with doppler radar and surface to air missles . The errors are to obvious to not be intentional.
Whoever produced the series should be ashamed. The "MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA" series was good with amazing CGI. A shame they botched this. D-day in HD friday. I am prepaired to be disappointed.

Same here. We haven't had a TV for 8 years.

There's a radar app on my phone that's pretty good.
