Commercial BSA SMLE with Enfield Inspectors Marks
A few Bahrain contract SMLEs that have came in recently all had Enfield Inspectors marks, then I got this Fulton Regulated SMLE today and this also had the Enfield inspectors marks.
I wonder why Enfield were inspecting BSA commercial rifles, I have seem quite a few with BSA (B and a Crown) Military view marks.

A between the wars contract sponsored by the UK Government?
BTW, nice rifle.

As BSA was building and marketing No1s as "British military spec", presumably the resident in-house military inspector would have inevitably been an Enfield man anyway? Which other organisation could have been the one to authorise and apply the BM/BV marks?

It's the government Viewer's mark to certify that it meets the milspec - and not some 'National Match' grade pretending to be a service grade rifle - and is allowed for NRA competition.
