I have a couple of questions on early carbine parts

I have a early carbine and have a couple of question regarding it. About what date or serial number was it when they switched from the cone shaped extractor plunger to the later one and when did they add a cartouche on the right side of the butt stock on a high wood stock that has a IO and bomb in the sling well? Appreciate any answers as I am not near my reference books, Ray
