Bureau of Ordinance. Binoculars Yellow filters.

Have a pair of binoculars marked Bausch & Lomb, 30mm. APERT,, 6 power, Mark VII No5479 Of course US Navy. WWI (?)

My question is, " On the eye pieces are two little wheels. Turning those wheels drops a yellow filter in the viewing port of the eye pieces. What are those for? Use at dusk?."

Try it during less than perfect days. It gives you crystal clarity when things are hazy or a bit dark. We use shooting glasses very similar to that.
