    ram rod bayonet 1903

Fred, check around for a handguard clip with the two rivets as I do not think they were manufactured without the clip to hold it to the barrel. You should be able to find something close.

Can not tell from your muzzle photos but there is a special stacking swivel that is unique to the rod bayonet rifles onlyAttachment 54840Attachment 54838Attachment 54839

Bottom right stacking swivel is for the rod bayonet rifle

Nice rifle Fred, now I see a couple of the things you spoke of that showed it was made up. I could care less. I'd love to have it just like it is. Gorgeous.
    Regards, Jim

I sure do thank you for the pictures! I guess that I'll have to modify a regular stacking swivel with a file. What I'm also really looking for as well is a solid rear band without the split in it. I've got something really neat that I'd trade for one of those as I can't make one myself without messing around with a wire welder. Or, I could come up with whatever cash the owner wanted for it. I'm going to search around for somebody who is making those hand guards properly. Many thanks for you assistance and input!!!

Thanks Tom! I think that I most certainly AM a lucky guy. Certainly for being privileged to finally get my grubby little mitts on a Rod Bayonet 03. Primarily and above all though of course I'm quite lucky to have had the good sense to marry a great woman who's my best friend and who really gets a kick out of seeing me get excited over an old worn out looking old gun!
