    1943 Tula ex - sniper.

Found this '43 Tula ex sniper yesterday. 'CH' marking, post war stock. Good 'unrefurbed' look. Thinking of putting it back to sniper spec.

How is the bore? My exsniper's bore is a little worn. It took a while to work up a load it likes. Definitely makes for a fun project.

Not to tell you one way or the other, but "resnipering" is a PITA. I know of 2 people who have done it and told me they wished they never did. I had one that someone had previously done that too, and it was not easy to deal with. It took a very long time to get the mount in the right place to allow the scope to zero. I'm sure it can be done and done well, but I would advise that you take the utmost care and truly evaluate if you have the skill and time to do it.

MikesM44, you're correct about it being a real PITA. First one I ever did almost made me throw it out the window. Have done two, and like you said, I swore it wasnt worth the effort again. But this one has such a good look, I almost have to!

Dabsond, the bore is great. Should be a good shooter.

Haha. Well, you seem prepared for the journey. "A man forewarned is a man forearmed" as they say. Good luck!

I did one and it was the first time I've ever attempted any type of serious tapping and only had hand tools. No problems at all with it. Just takes patience and car
