A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Wow! First, I wouldn't mind having the stuff myself, even with the lousy finish on everything. Second, and this is just an opinion, but the seller probably did the de-mill himself just to get the stuff on Ebay. Makes me want to hurl when I see what people have done in the name of greed since the phantom M1 carbine ban talk resurfaced.

As far as what the stuff will go for, I think 500 (if everyone is turned off by the finish) to as much as 800 would not be out of the question. I can even see it going for more if two less than intelligent fellows get in a bidding war.

I'll keep an eye on it. I am curious, but not destined to win the stuff.

I expect that "kit" will end up going for around $600. Possibly higher.....

In other words, YES! I don't think the way it's cut qualifies as technically de-milled either. I can see someone named Bubba welding it back together since it's such a straight cut. That of course is no guarantee it will happen.

I'd think you'd want the original parts for that...

Are you talking about the section of receiver missing? I didn't notice that in the description till near the end of the auction. BTW, the kit sold for almost the top price I predicted. I never really thought it would go for that much, but certainly believed it was possible.
