Great work there! I always like seeing the bit and pieces that people get up to in their sheds. Fantastic project, and many more no doubt.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Heres the latest MkIII stock. Each attempt gets better as I'm learning more and more. This one has no real flaws, just small hand fitted imperfections.

All the problems you just showed us we've all gone through fitting a stock. I sold a Ross at last Easter's Calgary show with a smashed stock, if I'd had one of yours it would have gone very high instead. They just aren't around. Now you're going to give us the opportunity to refurbish and rebuild a scarce pattern of rifle...stand by for work orders...
    Regards, Jim

I'm going to work on getting a higher quality set of chisels, gouges and sharpening tools. I think that will help a bunch. I also found a nice little drill press angle vise that I think will help a pile with fitting the rivets in the hand guards.

They have come a long way already. I just need more practice. The one I just took pics up of I believe to be good enough to sell and keep most people happy. Now I just need to dial them in a bit.

Sure it'll sell. Remember, there's NOTHING out there right now for competition. Yes, just takes practice and sharp tools.

Outstanding work! Just think, if you decide to make more of the stocks, you could be directly responsible for several old Ross Rifles being restored to their former glory.
