New guy from Michigan, and his FAL

Just an intro as a new member here, thought you might like to see my stg58. It wears an Alcan Spectre I brought home from Afghanistan in 2012. I did a horse trade for the rifle after I returned home, traded an old Winnie levergun for it. Been reloading for the Fal and picking up ammo when possible, have around 2000 rounds on hand. This rifle was built on an Enterprise receiver, been a very reliable shooter for me.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Yep, basically a Chief Warrant handed it to me one day and asked me if I had a use for it, "Of course I do" was my reply . People have made offers on it but I decline, it works very nicely on the FAL.

The little KOWA telescope you have tghere looks suspiciously like the issue spotting scope for out L96 and 115 sniper rifles. Did you 'liberate' tyhat from the Brits there? Good telescope although we used to lock the ocular housing on ours down to - I seem to recall - x20. I don't think that we had any real problems with them except the eye rings used to crack but they were available as spares.

Mate, the same sort of business went on in Vietnam circa 1968!

Well done on the Elcan. I've been coveting one for years!

Welcome aboard, I have had an stg58 in the past, a very nicely built and finished fal, superior to the Belgian standard production rifle in build quality my opinion.
