Musso or Jesse Robinson Style Bowie Knife - Copy or Original?

I found this brass-back Bowie knife which is really similar to the Musso or Jesse Robinson knives in the Louisiana knife-maker Chris Nolen's collection. It measures 18" overall, has a blade length of 13" and a blade width of 2-1/2". There are no manufacturer's markings on it. Any ideas?

I hate to say it, but it appears to be a modern hand made reproduction. Reasonably well done but no older than 35 or so.

Of course, I could be wrong. Others will have their opinions too, let's see what those with more knowledge on the subject have to say.

You're probably right. It's a nice vintage repro and I've only got $10 invested in it. Looking on Ebay, older repro Bowies like this can bring anywhere from $100-200 so I guess I didn't get took.
