    Medium Throat Stocks

For some reason, I finally looked at some of my short throat stocks and compared them to 2 long throats.

Yep, there ARE medium throat stocks, like Rick Bicon has mentioned in the past.
    I, apparently have three.

One has the scooped clip latch, without any channel number.
The other two have channel digits, but it appears that the clip latch recesses have been hogged out, to flatter and deeper and may have been scooped.

I am assuming that the medium channel stocks preceed the short channel stocks?
That is a leap, I realize, but I am sure that the answer is out there..........
    Thanks for any info.

    Thanks Rick!

The short ones are ez to spot.

The medium length ones, not so much. You really have to check. Transition period of stock production changes, may have allowed some into the early EMcF period.

I also seem to have one original, unsanded, scooped clip latch, 7-42 era
stock, also with a medium throat, marked EMcF.

I have a Gas Trap stock, large hole over small hole, converted with the dowel/plug to equal size holes, and that has a short throat.....was likely converted at the Armory. That one looks just like a late war short throat.
