Had my Swedishicon Husqvarna M38 6.5x55mm Mausers out for cleaning and thought I would share some pictures for all to enjoy.

Those are some great looking specimens you got there !! Love the handiness of the 38, although I've never shot one.
Seems to be the perfect carry/brush gun, for those tight timbers with the occasional clear cut.
However, those iron sights look even more difficult to see than my standard 98's. Thank's for the pics !!

Very nice as well, pity that they make you guys down south stamp import markings on those rifles, all mine are not import marked as it is not a requirement for importing firearms into Canadaicon!

Swedish Mausers (M38s and the longer M96) are readily available in Australiaicon, although the prices are creeping up - you'll probably pay about $500+ for an M38 in really good shape. I've only seen a couple in that "straight from the factory" condition here in Australia, but rifles which have seen use (but been well looked after) are plentiful, at least from what I've seen.

They're fantastic rifles, ammunition is affordable (about $1/rnd for factory cartridges) and it's great to shoot - mild recoil and extremely accurate. A lot of the competitive service rifle shooters I know swear by them, too.

Actually the square blade m38 sights are considerably easier for me to align than the standard mauser "barleycorn". Also can see them better in low light hunting conditions. Unfortunately, the blade is usuually too low for a proper 100 yard zero and requires modification or replacement with a taller blade.
