I am looking at a PPK from the late 1930s It is in nice shape however it does not have a mag. would the correct mag be hard to find and would it be expensive? how would no mag effect the value of the gun

An original plain bottom mag will run $150/200 and a finger extension $300/400. Just my opinion, but no magazine would affect the price more than just the cost of the magazine as you still have to find one.

In the EU we can buy this stuff direct from Germanyicon for example, http://www.egun.de/market/list_items...in+ppk&quick=1 And as you can see not a the prices quoted earlier.

However, In don't know where you are and so whether that is possible for you.

The FRANCE stamped on the magazine takes it out of the correct magazine status.

The site is a Germanicon "ebay" for guns and so there are more that that one for sale.

It also depends on what you mean by "correct". Some will settle for one that fits, at least until a better one turns up - if ever. For example I have Walther P1 magazine for my HP.

"Correct" is the type magazine the pistol originally came with, which is what the OP inquired about. A post WWII magazine would not be "correct".

It's good to know that you are looking after his interests. I obviously do not need to make further posts.

Whether you post further is up to you, but the OP did inquire if the correct magazine would be hard to find and I tried to address his question.
